From Start to Finish

1. Getting a quote

Come in for a visit to our location in Richmond. Bring along samples of your cabinets, tile and any other interior pieces that will help you select the stone for your home. Also bring a layout (or just a simple drawing with measurements) so that we can estimate a budget price for your project. During your visit to our showroom you may view our selection of granite samples. Also, you may fax over or email us a layout with measurements of your project. Please provide us with as much information as you can, regarding your project.

This includes:

  • Layout and measurements
  • Name of the Stone (if known)
  • Edge (if known)
  • Personal information including the job address, contact information, and any other details that will help us determine the quote of the job.

All estimates are based on the dimensions provided to us.

2. Placing an Order

To place an order with our company, we require you to sign a Contract with Universal Granite, place a 50% deposit down and have the following steps complete in your home.

a.   Cabinets need to be installed.
b.   The sink template needs to be on location so that we may take it back to the shop
      for the sink cut-out.
c.   You need to provide us information about a faucet model and additional info about
holes for soap dispenser, water dispenser or any other holes you will require.

3. The Final Price

The final price will be calculated based on the measurements taken on the jobsite. We will also verify the stone and the edge selected. If the stone's color pattern or grain is not consistent, we will recommend alternate sources for your product. At this point we need your "OK" to fabricate the counter. It usually takes us 7 to 10 business days to fabricate and install after the measurements are taken.

4. Installation

The last and final step is the installation. If you have a current countertop on your cabinets, please make sure it is removed and the sink and cook top are detached before we come out for installation. We do not remove old countertops* or specialize in plumbing and electricity.
